I’ve seen just as bad around Los Angeles – and nobody else made the Allahu Akbar connection…?
There was that one Sunset Blvd. Beverly Hills mansion… The reproduction statuary on the fence on the fence pilasters facing out, all “anatomically correct and well endowed”, which normally isn’t a problem when they are left all white or faux Marble. But the owner had them painted in full color and flesh-tones (including drop shadows…)
The guy lost the house and got evicted, the neighbors had to wrap the statues in trash-bags.
A friend was a Marine Lance Corporal who grew up in Malibu and knew his Construction, who toured a lot of Saddam Hussein’s palaces – 100 times as kitchy, and all built like utter crap. He wanted Grandiose, and thought he got it. But the laborers only wanted to get out alive.
So they threw up what he wanted (SIC), got paid, and got out of the country fast before it started crumbling.
Interesting bit of history I hadn’t heard. Through the 1990’s I traveled extensively in countries such as Albania, Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Turkey, and the DRC (among others.) I mention the places where I saw construction that would pucker your sphincter. And they wonder why a 2.3 in some of these places can bring down an entire village…
Wow. That is spectacularly ugly. It makes me go “Whaaaaa?”

Does it have moving staircases, though?
