  1. We used to have those at a hospital where I worked in 1980. I saw something like it in a hospital built within the last few years; I guess they use it for samples. But by the time I got to the newspaper/publishing house where I started to work in 1984, the pneumatic tubes were no longer in use. The teletype was, but I imagine that that stopped being a thing a long time ago now.

    • There are some advantages to getting older… it’s extremely interesting to have the broadened perspective of what techology used to be like compared to today’s advances. I just sort of tilt out as I imagine what sort of things my grandchildren will see in their lifetimes.
