The story is not all happy; Milne resented what he saw as his father’s exploitation of his childhood and came to hate the books that had thrust him into the public eye, but A.A. Milne’s stories certainly brought and continue to bring joy to millions.

It’s becoming almost an article of faith with me that a parent who achieves great things outside of child-raising is almost certainly a terrible parent. This consoles me in my lack of paid career success. 🙂
Still, it’s a beautiful picture. And the child has lovely hair.
