The Lads from Lagos, again

A recent study has concluded that Nigerian fraud letters are intentionally unbelievable, so as to weed out any but the most stupid of possible victims. That may be so in some cases, but I happen to think that most of these electronic missives are just drafted by really, really, stupid people in the first place.  Here’s a recent example:

  1. Yep. I’ve always thought that. “Hey, I know English. And Americans are rich. I bet I can get them to give me money!”

    • There’s also the pervasive attitude that white people were responsible for plundering Nigeria, so anything they can get from any white people anywhere is deserved.

      • Yup. I did it! Me! The one with no English ancestors more recent than, say, 1750! The one who has never been to Nigeria! Yoo hoo! It was me, guys!

      • Sheesh, just tell me to say a whole decade of the rosary and have done. It’s like you aren’t even a real priest or something.

      • Can anything be excessive, considering the sacrifice of Our Lord?

But I do kind of think actually spending a decade saying the rosary would be untenable, even if one were a contemplative religious. Saying a decade, now, pff. That’s easy.
