More or less a’propos to Crispy Christensen’s bluescreened arm, one of the things that amazed me most about “Forrest Gump” was not—although that’s what got all the media attention—how they’d mixed Tom Hanks into vintage television clips, but rather how they managed to oh so casually and seamlessly dispose of Lieutenant Dan’s legs, which hardly got a mention anywhere.
I watched a documentary on how they did that – it may have been one of the DVD special features. Digital brilliance!
